Dear Family,
How's life back home? Things are going well for Elder Tom and I. I've been looking back to every commitment that I have ever commited myself to doing ever since I came on my mission. Then writing them all down on one paper to make sure that I am doing them. It's been a good activity for me. I would certainly like to increase how consistent I am with keeping commitments. I asked the Lord to help me know how I can improve my work and bam, there's a lot of old commitments that I found I had been slacking on.
Elder Tom and I just recently dropped several of the investigators whom we were working with. Last Saturday most of our appointments fell through. We ended up inviting for most of the day. There were so many people to talk to that it took us about two and a half hours to leave the area around our house. Two of the people that we invited were open to inviting us in to their house/work place to sit down and talk to them for 15 minutes right then and there. Throughout the day people gave us water and some food. We never needed to take a break to buy water even though we were out in the sun all day.
Our last/first appointment was that night. We met with Brother Nok who was preparing to receive the Melchizedek priesthood. He was very nervous about accepting the responsibility of the higher priesthood. He
said that he was going to stay up pondering about the choice to go to the District conference and recieve the Priesthood or avoid going. That woud have made it hard for him to go because District conference was in Roi Et which is about four plus hours away from Korat. The bus to go would leave at 5:00 in the morning. Instead we taught him and talked with him and were able to be the Lord's instuments in helping him prepare. We read Alma 13 together. The Scriptures are a powerful tool.
District Conference went well. There were three members of our Branch that received the Melchizedek Priesthood.
This Morning Brother Bee our Elder's quorum president called and informed us that he had set up the new home teaching list. This is excellent knews for us. Hometeaching is going to help the Branch in miraculous ways. Using the Scriptures Elder Tom and I taught a lesson in Priesthood quorum about home teaching. There are some marvelous blessings promised in the Doctrine and Covenants about home teaching. With about 600 members in our membership records and only about 80 active members, there is a great need to felowship eachother and follow God's appointed way.
In other news, I just got an ingrown toenail cut today. The receptionist lady was funny and insisted that I be taken out in a wheel chair. I enjoyed being taken in a wheelchair over to our bikes to ride back home. The transporter was a nice guy. Hopefully he will accept our invetation to explore the Church with us.
Elder Tom is doing well. He's set to go to the MTC in the Phillipines around April 2nd. I'm not sure what President Smith is going to do about the area because my time should be up pretty soon and I should be moving to another area. But That leaves only 2 weeks for the new missionary to learn about one of the biggest areas in the mission before Elder Tom leaves. President will think of something, but if he want's me to stay here then that's cool with me.
How's Spencer's arm doing?
Has Mike, Nanna, and Brandon gotten a steady job yet?
How's Aaron doing?
Love ya
Elder Lilly
